One of the most important goals at WPM is to create a Mentawai experience for the guests. We don't want visitors to feel that they are living in a hotel on the mainland. It would be better to stay home than to travel all this way and feel like a busy business traveller staying in a hotel. All of the materials used for the house are from the islands except the screws, bolts, nails and concrete used for the foundations and joining. All labor to build the house was by local people. Keeping the expenditures local is one of the primary goals of WPM. The "Park" in WavePark is just what it means. Lush green grass abounds in the coconut plantation where the house and restaurant are built. A garden of vegetables, fruits and flowers surrounds the property. We hope that you will come and enjoy the locally designed, built and constructed accommodations at WPM. |
