ALICE'S BEST OF 2009

Thanks to all the guests and crew who made this possible. 2009 was a great year for swell which makes my job easy.

First surf of the trip - the return guests skipped the boat and stayed back to wait for the tide to fill in out front. Sometimes a little patience pays off, it was one of the best sessions of the trip.

Number 2 most mellow wave at WavePark, but every wave has its day. Mick managed to find the sweet spot during a perfect afternoon session.

In the shade. Heavy lip.

It had been pouring rain for over an hour when the clouds broke and the rain backed off. Glassy and all to ourselves.

T-Rex just squeaking out of this one. T-Rex lives in PNG - close enough to drop everything and jump on a plane when he sees the swell report. A sure fire way to guarantee solid waves.

I found these baby peeps just outside our bar. Very, very hungry- waiting for mama bird to bring back some grub.

Controlled chaos (no one got hurt).

Twin fin bottom turn. I think it's safe to say Christie is truly comfortable on any board.

Ainsley shows the boys how it's done.

Bungalow looking oh so inviting.

Guilherme enjoyed Hideaways. He came to WavePark with just his dad. This year they're coming back with their entire posse in tow.

This trip was early season and the East coast-West coast boys wanted barrels. A few days into the trip Christie asked them what wave the wanted to score the most. Everyone had the same answer- big barrels. Two days later, dream come true.

What's up lil' turtle?

Im shredding in Marcus' face on the board that Marcus gave him last year. Im took his surfing to a new level this year- thanks Marcus!

You take this one, no you go. Chris dreams about this wave back in California.

Fun on the beach.

Rafael in the zone. This sequence ends in the biggest smile of the season.

Not only is this the shot everyone wants, I love the lighting. The size of the whitewater shadow in front of the lip is something I have never seen before.

This wave was a guest favorite in 2009. Once anyone surfed here, they asked about it everyday.

Spectacular sunset.
